Our AUSMAP programs
are building a strategic network
of activists and researchers across Australia.
To solve the marine plastic pollution crisis we need comprehensive
action across communities, industry and government, and this can only happen
when everyone understands the scale and magnitude of the problem. By engaging high-schools and communities in citizen science activities we empower our participants to take leadership on systemic solutions. A rigorous scientific methodology and collection
protocol requires trained educators and volunteers on the ground for fieldwork and
lab sessions. In order to scale up rapidly and effectively, we are engaging with
existing networks of established organisations to develop
two core programs.
